General
What is profilo?
A personal profile page you put together from modules in minutes – reachable at profilo.so/yourname. More than a link-in-bio, simpler than your own website. To get started, see Getting started.
Do I need technical knowledge?
No. You add modules with Add, arrange them by drag-and-drop and click Publish. No code, no hosting, no setup.
Is profilo free?
Yes – the Free version is free forever. It includes your profilo.so/yourname address, the base modules, one tab and the light/dark toggle.
What does Premium cost?
Regularly €8/month or €79/year (2 months free), including a 7-day free trial. Premium unlocks all modules, up to 10 tabs, full styling, analytics, password protection, a custom logo and the Wallet features. Full details: Premium, subscription & cancellation.
Why do I already have Premium without paying?
profilo is currently in a test phase: Premium is unlocked for free for everyone, you don't need a payment method and you'll see no checkout screen. Under Settings → Billing you'll then see the "Testphase" (trial) badge. More under Premium, subscription & cancellation.
Profile & content
Do visitors see my changes immediately?
No. You always work on a draft; it only goes public when you click Publish. Until then, no one sees your pending changes.
What happens when I delete a module?
Only that module and its content are removed. It only affects your public page with the next Publish – until then the live version stays unchanged.
Can I build my profile from my résumé?
Yes. With résumé import you upload your CV or LinkedIn profile as a PDF; an AI reads it and fills in the matching modules (experience, education, projects, skills, languages and more). You review everything before applying it. Here's how: Résumé import.
What language does my public profile appear in?
In your language as the owner – regardless of where the visitor is from. The language of your dashboard and editor is a separate setting (German/English) that you switch in Settings.
Account & subscription
What happens when I change my username?
Your address profilo.so/yourname changes with it. Links you've already shared and printed QR codes that point to the old name will stop working afterwards. So regenerate your QR code after a name change – see Sharing & QR business card.
I forgot my password – what now?
On the login page, click Forgot password? and enter your email. If an account exists, you'll get a reset link by email; use it to set a new password (at least 6 characters).
What happens when I cancel Premium?
Your Premium content is not deleted, only hidden – and comes back automatically when you upgrade again. Details: Premium, subscription & cancellation.
How do I delete my account?
In Settings you'll find account deletion. As a safeguard, you have to type the word DELETE. After that, your profile and all content are removed permanently and your username becomes available again – this cannot be undone.
Is my login email shown publicly?
No. Your login email stays private. You only show a way to contact you if you add a Contact module yourself.
Sharing & visibility
Can I hide my profile or make it private?
Yes. Under Settings → Visibility you can set your profile to Offline (shows "page not found", content stays saved) or to Password-protected (Premium) – then it's only visible with a password and isn't findable in search engines. Everything about it: Visibility & password protection.
Note: Password protection is a Premium feature, but you can try it for free during the test phase.
How do I share my profile offline?
In the dashboard, under QR business card, create a QR code: download the finished card or just the QR code as a PNG, to print or embed. As a Premium user you can also add your profile to Apple Wallet. More under Sharing & QR business card.
Note: Google Wallet and a custom domain are planned and will follow shortly.
How do I see how many visitors my profile gets?
On the dashboard overview, the Besuche (Visits) card shows the figures for Total, 7 days and 30 days (Premium). These are aggregate daily counts – no individuals, no source, location or device data. Visits are only counted for published profiles and only when the visitor accepts the analytics banner, so the numbers tend to be conservative.
Can I show my own logo instead of "profilo"?
Yes, with Premium. Under Settings → Eigenes Logo (Custom logo) you upload your logo (ideally a transparent PNG, around 240×64 px); it replaces the profilo wordmark in your public page's navigation and goes live instantly. More under Branding.
Can I add a legal notice / imprint?
In your profile's Footer you can place your own links, for example to a legal notice or privacy policy. How to set up the footer and logo is covered under Branding.
Résumé import & images
What file do I need for the résumé import?
A PDF file (max. 8 MB). Other formats like DOCX, images or plain text aren't supported. If needed, export your LinkedIn profile via "Save to PDF". A text-based PDF works best – purely scanned pages often yield little. Details: Résumé import.
What happens to my uploaded résumé?
Your PDF is only sent to our AI provider for analysis, processed transiently and not stored, and not used for AI training. You have to explicitly consent to this with a checkbox before uploading. More under Résumé import.
Which image formats can I upload?
JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF and HEIC. HEIC from iPhones is converted automatically – so you can upload your photos directly. The maximum file size is 10 MB per image. More under Images & uploads.
Is there a limit on images?
Yes: Free allows 15 images, Premium 100 images in total (profile photo, logo and all module/gallery images count together). Swapping one image for a new one doesn't use an extra slot. More under Images & uploads.
Will my photo metadata (e.g. GPS) be published too?
No. On upload, all images are re-encoded and their EXIF and GPS data are stripped – so your location and camera data never end up on your public page.
